the little things
Yesterday, I got two lovely letters from two lovely friends. They were such an encouragement. And their arrivals were so perfectly timed. (The timing part was not up to them. I give Jesus total credit.)
With one letter, my friend included a little sheet of paper with 1 John 3:18-20 on it. I was reading that passage in my Bible this morning as well as the surrounding verses, trying to let it seep...

my question
is… what is this world coming to?
i guess i have always been aware of the world’s great need for Jesus. i’ve known it because people say it. but, until now, never before have i been so acutely aware of the world’s need or my own need for Jesus.
sin is running rampant. nature is out of control. disasters of every kind are daily news.
earthquakes. floods. an oil spill....
i suppose
i suppose there just comes points in one’s life when one does not know what one is doing. if one’s decisions are the right decisions. if the motives are right. if the timing is right. if the reasons are right. and i suppose that’s where i am right now. and it blows.
